NCHA Statement on Passage of HR1
Now that H.R. 1 has passed, the North Carolina Healthcare Association will work closely with state lawmakers to find solutions that preserve access to care for North Carolinians and continue to engage with our members of Congress to ensure they understand the impact these cuts will have on our state’s Medicaid program.

In Session Podcast: Overcoming Barriers in Post-Acute Care Transition
Every day in North Carolina, more than 360 hospital patients cleared for discharge face delays due to limited care placement options. On this two-part episode of In Session, you will hear from Katie Flanagan, Assistant Vice President of Care Coordination at Duke University Health System and Chair of the NCHA Transitions of Care Committee. Listen to learn more about the barriers causing these delays and explore how hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and payers can work together to ensure patients get timely access to the care they need.
Watch NCHA’s Virtual Healthcare Career Day
NCHA partnered with the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction to host a Virtual Healthcare Career Day on February 28. This event was developed to inspire middle and high school age students across North Carolina to join the healthcare field. The program featured various in-demand healthcare careers, including nursing, physical and occupational therapy, radiology and imaging, medical assistants, and laboratory sciences. Nearly 150 teachers registered their classrooms, and the event reached over 3,500 students across the state. Students watched videos featuring real North Carolina healthcare professionals showcasing a day in their lives and answered questions about starting their careers. Read the press release here.
